Week 30

Happy Monday!

ELA: LT Ch. 8-9 RG due Friday and S/V Test Friday. They need to be keeping up on their annotations and golden lines for each chapter. Whatever pages/chapters we read the previous week are due the following Monday. They should have 1-2 QUALITY annotations per page, and 2-3 golden lines per chapter. Don’t forget to annotate any reference to Greek mythology/culture!

We also read Winston Churchill’s famous speech from May of 1940—”I have nothing left to offer but blood, toil, sweat and tears.” This week, we’ll be discussing how language can be used as a call to action, and how characters throughout history have affected change.

HISTORY: To finish our Acropolis Phase, the kids have one last challenge: to build a Greek temple with limited time and resources! Blueprint Day is tomorrow, with Construction Day on Wednesday. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND WORK AS A TEAM!

Last week’s stats:

Megara and Corinth won the Greek Vases Challenge, with impressive artwork and Greek imagery all around! A lot of students obtained arete, so keep up the good work!

STRIVE FOR ARETE IN ALL THAT YOU DO!

RELIGION: Miracle Maker Test this Friday! TAKE GOOD, COPIOUS NOTES!!!

ART: KEEP UP ON YOUR ANIMATIONS!!! Pencil tests should be done no later than 4/18, and claymation sets and sculptures done no later than 4/8.
